When the call to plant this church was heard, the scripture Matthew 28:18-20 was laid on our hearts: “Jesus came and told his disciples, ‘I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’”
We knew from that moment that equipping believers to walk in the authority that Jesus gave them in order to do the work of the ministry would be an integral part of Heaven & Earth Church. Teaching them about the love of our Heavenly Father and living life from an intimate relationship with Him brings about transformation in us and the world around us. We believe in equipping the saints in such a way that they become an encounter with Jesus to the lost and dying world.
There is a significant shift happening in the body of Christ. The focus is shifting away from the idea that one ‘holy man or woman of God’ brings revival and transformation in a generation or country. Each and every believer has this call to and ministry of reconciliation. The body of Christ is waking up to who they are and what they are called to do. Therefore, we need to equip the saints for this work and teach them that they have everything they need through the finished work of Jesus on the cross.
In the book of Mark, it speaks about how God will confirm the word preached by believers with signs and miracles following. We are sensitive to the move of God in everything we do, from Sunday Celebrations to missions and church plants in Africa. And we believe that we can see Heaven manifest on Earth everywhere we go by ushering in the manifest presence of God into a lost and dying world.
